Terms & Conditions
  1. 全国中一至中五的学生可在2023年1月10日至3月27日期间提交参赛作品。
  2. 学生可单独或是组队(每组最多3人)参赛。
  3. 学生可选择参加任何一个组别或是三个组别都参加。
    1. 鲜新闻——以校园或生活周遭的人、事、物和话题为主题,针对主题进行观察、了解、采访等,制作成1-2分钟的视频。作品必须原创,可适度使用没有版权限制的画面或音乐素材。
    2. 创意新闻60秒——以校园或生活周遭的人、事、物和话题为主题,针对主题进行观察、了解、采访等,制作成60秒直式(9:16)的Tik Tok/YouTube Shorts/IG Reels短视频,用创意又不扭曲新闻信息的方式呈现,以吸引年轻人的眼球。
    3. 再生新闻——从指定素材里选择素材,用以下其中一种方式制作成1-2分钟视频:
      1. 跟进或延伸新闻报道
      2. 分析新闻
      3. 评论新闻
  4. 参赛作品数量不限。每所学校参赛作品数量也不限。
  5. 提交参赛作品,即授权主办方及所有合作伙伴在各类平台,以各种形式进行编辑、再创作、翻译、展览、发布、出版刊登等形式,使用该作品。
  6. 得奖作品将有机会在新传媒平台上发表,包括但不限于电视、电台、网站等。
  7. 评委将从每个组别中选出三份金奖,三份银奖,三份铜奖与三份鼓励奖。
    1. 金奖:每份S$700奖金,奖座一个与每人一张奖状
    2. 银奖:每份S$400奖金,奖座一个与每人一张奖状
    3. 铜奖:每份S$100奖金,奖座一个与每人一张奖状
    4. 鼓励奖:每人一张奖状
    主办单位有权以其它同等价值奖品替代。任何投诉,恕不受理。
  8. 入围名单将在2023年5月9日于8视界《我来报新闻》比赛网站上公布。颁奖典礼将在5月26日举行。新传媒将有权更改日期。
  9. 参赛者须遵守新传媒所规定的参赛规则,否则参赛资格将被取消。
  10. 得奖者须遵守新传媒所规定的领奖指示。
    1. 新传媒若指定了任何领奖截止日期,得奖者必须在截止日期前领取奖品,否则得奖资格将被取消。
    2. 在奖品递送的过程中,若奖品因任何无法控制的因素而被延误、丢失或损坏,新传媒将不会承担其责任。所有得奖者必须向新传媒提供准确的联系方式和传送奖品的资料。奖品递送时若因不正确或不完整的资料而失败或被延误,得奖者将赔偿新传媒任何损失费或费用。
    3. 若有需要,得奖者需向新传媒提供所需信息和文件,以让新传媒验证参与者的参赛资格和身份。
  11. 奖座与奖状将不能换取现金。
  12. 无论国籍,这项挑战赛开放给所有在新加坡中一至中五的学生。18岁一下人士参赛前须征得父母或监护人同意。新传媒,以及奖品赞助商的员工和家属将不能参赛。
  13. 提交作品参赛,即同意主办方与合作伙伴通过电话、简讯、电邮等方式 ,就比赛事项与参赛者直接联系。主办方与合作伙伴将不能在未经参赛者许可下,私自将参赛者提供的个人资料转发给其他与此比赛无关的单位或个人。如果你对新传媒将如何使用你的个人资料有疑问,可电邮 dpo@mediacorp.com.sg
  14. 主办单位有权修改、延迟或调整挑战赛时段与日期。
  15. 本挑战赛规则附有中英文版解释。若想了解比赛完整的规则,请参阅英文版本。中英文版本如有歧义,以英文版本为准。
  16. 本挑战赛规则根据新加坡法律订立,参赛者一旦参加比赛,将受制于新加坡法庭管辖权。任何第三方都无权在新加坡共和国合约(第三者权利)法令下,对新传媒执行本比赛规则的任何条纹。

  1. The “Young Reporter News Challenge 2023” (the “Challenge”) is organized by Mediacorp Pte. Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Mediacorp”). The Challenge will be conducted from 10 January 2023 to 27 March 2023 (“Challenge Period”). These Terms and Conditions shall be read together with any other rules and/or terms and conditions application to the Challenge (the “Rules”), and shall apply to all stages of the Challenge.
  2. Unless otherwise stated in these Terms and Conditions or the Rules, the Challenge is open to all Secondary One to Five students residing in Singapore at the point of participation in the Challenge. All participants below 18 years of age as at the date of participation are required to obtain their parent's / legal guardian's consent before they participate in the Challenge and shall provide the particulars of their parent / legal guardian to Mediacorp as and when required and/or requested by Mediacorp for verification purposes. The participants warrant to Mediacorp that they have the legal capacity to participate in the Challenge in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
  3. The following persons are not eligible to participate in the Challenge: (a) employee(s) of any company in the Mediacorp group of companies (“Mediacorp Group”) and close relations of such employee(s), and (b) where applicable, the employee(s) of companies that provide sponsorship for the Challenge.
  4. All participants of the Challenge must follow the procedures provided to them, including all instructions set out on this website, over the air or by any publicity materials provided by Mediacorp at any time and from time to time. Details relating to participation in the Challenge are as follows:
    1. Participants can participate individually or as a team (maximum 3 participants per team).
    2. Participants can choose from any of the following 3 categories (each, a “Category”) for each submission (each, a “Submission”):
      1. Fresh News - Create a 1–2-minute video based on observation, understanding and interviews on the lifestyle of people, things, objects and any related topics. The video must be original and must not contain any content that infringes third party rights.
      2. News Bites 60 - Create a 60-second vertical (9:16) Tik Tok/YouTube Shorts/IG Reels video based on observation, understanding and interviews on the lifestyle of people, things, objects and any related topics. The video must be presented in a creative way without distorting factual news and/or information, and must be able to attract the attention of young audiences.
      3. Retell News - Select a resource from the list of articles provided in the Challenge website and create a 1–2-minute video using only one of the following methods:
        1. Follow up on or extend the news coverage;
        2. Analyze the news; OR
        3. Comment on the news.
    3. There is no limit to the number of Submissions and participants may submit more than 1 Submission across various categories. There is also no limit to the number of Submissions per school.
    4. The judging panel will select three (3) Gold Award Submissions, three (3) Silver Award Submissions, three (3) Bronze Award Submissions, and three (3) Encouragement Award Submissions from each Category.
      1. Gold Award: S$700 cash prize and a trophy for the Submission and a certificate per participant
      2. Silver Award: S$400 cash prize and a trophy for the Submission and a certificate per participant
      3. Bronze Award: S$100 cash prize and a trophy for the Submission and a certificate per participant
      4. Encouragement Award: 1 certificate per participant
    5. Shortlisted Submissions will be announced on 8World's "Young Reporter News Challenge 2023" website on 9 May 2023. The award ceremony will take place on 26 May 2023. Dates are subject to changes at Mediacorp's discretion.
    6. All prizes may be subject to changes at Mediacorp's sole and absolute discussion without prior notice to the participants.
    7. Winners shall be required to strictly adhere to instructions specified by Mediacorp for redemption of prizes, failing which the prizes will be immediately forfeited. Without limitation to the foregoing:
      1. If any redemption deadlines are specified by Mediacorp, all winners must claim their prizes by the stipulated deadline failing which the prizes will be immediately forfeited.
      2. Mediacorp shall not be liable for any prizes which are lost, delayed or damaged in the process of delivery (if applicable), for reasons beyond its control. All winners will be solely responsible for providing Mediacorp with accurate contact and/or delivery details, and in the event that any failure and/or delay in prize delivery or redemption is due to any incorrect or incomplete information provided by the winner, the winner shall fully indemnify Mediacorp for any losses and/or costs incurred.
      3. If required by Mediacorp, participants shall provide all required information and documentation and satisfy all requirements specified by Mediacorp in its sole and absolute discretion for purposes of verifying the eligibility and/or identity of each participant.
  5. As a condition to participating in this Challenge, each participant warrants and undertakes that:
    1. he/she shall make full and honest disclosure of particulars as requested by Mediacorp and its partners for the purposes of the Challenge. Any misrepresentation of any fact or particulars (deemed material by Mediacorp) shall result in disqualification and/or the forfeiture, withholding, withdrawal or reclamation of any cash and/or prize won.
    2. he/she is the sole owner of all intellectual property rights (including copyright) and other proprietary rights in the Submissions, and that the Submissions do not infringe upon or violate any proprietary rights including without limitation, copyright, the right of privacy or publicity, nor constitute defamation against, nor violate any common law rights or any other rights of any person, firm or corporation; and
    3. he/she grants Mediacorp a perpetual royalty-free and transferable right to use, reproduce, publish, display, print, edit or distribute the Submissions (or any part thereof) on all mediums and platforms worldwide.
  6. The participant shall not, without the prior written approval of Mediacorp, speak to the press or any other media nor give any interviews or comments relating to the Challenge. The participant shall not disclose any information whatsoever relating to Mediacorp and/or any company in the Mediacorp Group to any other party.
  7. Mediacorp reserves the right not to award any prizes or to substitute, add to or alter any item on the list of prizes offered. All prizes shall not be transferable nor exchangeable for cash or otherwise. Participants acknowledge and agree that the all prizes may be subject to such other terms and conditions as may be imposed by Mediacorp and/or any third party agents and/or contractors engaged by Mediacorp to fulfil the delivery of prizes (if any).
  8. Mediacorp does not undertake any responsibility to ensure that prizes will be delivered by the sponsors or otherwise to any prize winner. No obligation will be incurred by Mediacorp or by its related/affiliated companies, officers and/or agents by reason of the participant(s)' participation in the Challenge or by reason of anything done or omitted to be done by the participant(s) as a result of or on account of the Challenge. Mediacorp shall not be liable or responsible for any and all losses, damages, costs and/or expenses (of any nature whatsoever) suffered by any participant arising from any failure or refusal, for whatever reason, to deliver or transfer, whether by Mediacorp or any sponsor, the prize or make good on any promise or offer to the participant(s).
  9. Mediacorp reserves the right, without any liability on its part whatsoever, to cancel, postpone, terminate, suspend, end, stop or in any other way cease the Challenge at any time without prior notice.
  10. Participants shall bear their own costs and expenses incurred and/or arising from their participation in the Challenge, including (without limitation), telecommunications, network, SMS and all such other charges and out-of-pocket expenses as may be incurred by each participant during or in connection with the Challenge and no reimbursement may be sought from Mediacorp.
  11. By participating in the Challenge, each participant agrees to take part in any and all marketing, promotional, publicity exercise as may be conducted by Mediacorp arising or with respect to the Challenge and the participant irrevocably and unconditionally grants to Mediacorp all consents and waivers necessary for Mediacorp to record and use the participant(s)' performance, appearance, likeness and/or particulars as the case may be, in any manner whatsoever and in any part of the world as Mediacorp shall in its sole discretion deem fit. The participant acknowledges that Mediacorp shall be at liberty to publish and otherwise use any recordings made by Mediacorp, including without limitation the information on the Challenge submission, telephone call, telephone recordings, audio recordings, visual recordings and photographs (if any), for the promotion and publicity of the Challenge. The participant hereby expressly waives any and all rights which the participant may acquire or have under the provisions of the Copyright Act of the Republic of Singapore (and any subsequent enactment or amendments thereto) and any other moral rights which the participant(s) may have or be entitled under any such legislation now existing or in the future enacted in any part of the world.
  12. Each participant's personal data will be collected, used, disclosed and/or processed by Mediacorp and the Mediacorp group of companies (collectively the “Mediacorp Group”) for the following purposes:
    1. for the Mediacorp Group or its designated representatives or business partners to provide goods and services to you or parties designated by you and matters ancillary thereto;
    2. to verify and process payment when you purchase goods and services from the Mediacorp Group;
    3. for verification and record of your personal particulars including comparing it with information from other sources and using the information to communicate with you'
    4. for research and analysis, including surveys and polls;
    5. to send you notices, information, promotions and updates including marketing and advertising materials in relation to the Mediacorp Group's goods and services and those of third party organizations selected by the Mediacorp Group; and
    6. to comply with any request from any third party or any order of court or directive from authorities investigating any alleged offence or misconduct or for the purposes of taking legal action against any you.
  13. By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions, you:
    1. consent to the Mediacorp Group or its designated representatives or business partners, collecting, using, disclosing and/or processing your personal data for the purposes as described in the clause above; and
    2. consent to the Mediacorp Group transferring your personal data out of Singapore to the Mediacorp Group's third party service providers or agents for the purposes as described in Clause 13 above. If you have any questions relating to Mediacorp's collection, use and disclosure of your personal data, please contact Mediacorp's Data Protection Officer at dpo@mediacorp.com.sg .
  14. The selection and number of judges, if any, and the manner in which the Challenge is judged, at each stage of the Challenge shall be at Mediacorp's sole and absolute discretion and the judges' and/or Mediacorp's decision at all stages of the Challenge is final. No enquiries, appeals, verbal or written, shall be entertained. The participants shall accept and abide by any and all decisions made by Mediacorp and/or the judges concerning, without limitation, the rules of the participation, the rules, procedures and regulations of the Challenge, the puzzles set on the Challenge, interviews with the participants (if any), the award of prizes and any other matters relating to the Challenge including the production thereof.
  15. As and when required by Mediacorp or its designated representatives or business partners, the participant shall produce his passport or identification card for verification purposes.
  16. Non-compliance with or breach of any of these Terms and Conditions shall immediately disqualify the participant from further participation at any stage of the Challenge, and any cash and prizes won shall be forfeited, withheld or withdrawn.
  17. Mediacorp reserves the right to amend or vary any of these Terms and Conditions and the Challenge without prior notice to any participant. Mediacorp further reserves the right, without any liability to any participant(s), to disqualify any participant(s) from the Challenge at any time at its discretion.
  18. Mediacorp shall be under no liability whatsoever to the participant(s) or the participant(s)' personal representatives, in respect of any loss, damage suffered by the participant(s) arising from or pursuant to the Challenge or for any loss, damage or injury to life or property sustained by the participant(s) at any stage of the Challenge and during production thereof.
  19. The participant shall indemnify and keep Mediacorp and its related/affiliated companies, officers, agents and employees (the “Indemnified Parties") fully indemnified against any and all loss, damage, claims and costs (including legal costs on a full indemnity basis) suffered and/or incurred by any of the Indemnified Parties as a result of the participant's breach of any of these Terms and Conditions.
  20. By his/her participation, the participant accepts to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and the Rules of the Challenge.
  21. These Terms and Conditions are available in English and Chinese. In the event of any inconsistencies between the two versions, the English version shall prevail.
  22. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore. No third party shall have any rights under the Contracts (Rights of Third Party) Act 2001 of the Republic of Singapore.
